Not much news to share today. I found Jerusalem University College (JUC) where my classes begin tomorrow morning. They welcomed me with all the information I needed as well as lunch and then sent me on to the Gloria Hotel just inside the Jaffa Gate of the Old City which will be my home for the next 3 weeks. I walked Jerusalem for a while and then began meeting some of my classmates over dinner.
I happen to be here during the 4th annual Festival of Lights in the Old City. After the sun went down I enjoyed the light shows and the cool breeze after a hot day. What a difference the evening breeze makes! It was a nice way to experience the city.
I've attached a few pictures from the light show. Most of them are of the earth harp - a huge harp stretched between two buildings with the building behind serving as a screen for a pretty amazing light show. The last picture is of the Jaffa Gate from the roof of my hotel.
